DC Universe Online este oficial free-to-play

Sony Online Entertainment a anunțat că DC Universe Online poate fi acum jucat (PC și PlayStation 3) fără a fi necesar să scoateți un cent din buzunar. Conform comunicatului de presă oferit, prezent și el ceva mai jos, gigantul nipon oferă trei nivele de acces cu diferite beneficii în funcție de gradul financiar de implicare:
- Free: Jucătorii noi vor avea acces la tot conținutul curent al MMORPG-ului (Gotham City, Metropolis, toate raid-urile și alertele), posibilitatea să creeze doua caractere și să se alăture ghildelor din joc, plus alte câteva beneficii. Restul se achiziționează prin intermediul magazinului virtual.
- Premium: Orice jucător care va cheltui cel puțin 5 dolari/euro în magazinul virtual (aici se includ si persoanele care au abonament în prezent) se vor califica pentru statutul de membrii premium. Aceștia vor beneficia de tot conținutul oferit de pachetul free, plus locuri adiționale pentru caractere, inventar și o limită mai mare a banilor (moneda jocului) ce pot fi strânși.
- Legendary: Free + Premium … la care se vor adăuga toate pachetele de conținut suplimentar (DLC-uri), 15 sloturi pentru personaje, inventar mărit cu 80 de sloturi, abilitatea de a forma ligi, plus multe altele. Totul pentru doar 15 euro per lună.
